A Hester Bateman pierced and bright cut engraved Sweetmeat Basket with blue glass liner, London 1783. Engraved with initials. Height to handle: 7.5ins. Weight, without liner : 6.5ozs. The HB makers mark has slipped on punching giving a shadow image.
